    Three questions for you Bowfessors

Last year my peep kept twisting, finally the bowshop said I needed a new string, they put one on and guess what ? Peep is till twisting, what do I need to do ?

I have a Mathews Z 7 with a QAD rest, I shoot blazer vanes, I seem to be getting contact every now and then because I see the arrow fish tailing, which way do you position the cock vane ?

You guys that use lighted nocs, do you practice with them or only use them with your hunting arrows, just curious if they will effect accuracy since they do add weight to the arrow.

    Thanks

Im no bowfessor...but I do all the work on my bows.
After 100-200 shots the string should not twist anymore. You may need to put a 1/2 to 2 twist to get it back to speck. Peep may need to be re-tied or just twist the d-loop to get correct peep alignment.

You got to figure out where your getting contact first. Rest, string or drop-away timing.

Check to see if it is the same arrows fishtailing...fletching orientation the same as others? Hand torque.

      1. You will need to visit a shop have the string adjusted to eliminate the peep twist.

      2. It could be a bad arrow or needs to be turned get vane clearance on the cables.

      3. Yes lighted nocks add weight to the back of the arrow and it stiffens the spine.

As mentioned above, sounds like you need to put a twist in your string to align your peep.

Cock vane up on the QAD, I'd guess your rest may be hanging up just a little bit if sporadic. Possibly dirt is gumming it up. Have you every oiled the rest? Don't if you haven't, they don't need to be oiled.

If you plan on shooting with a lighted nock, you should practice with them also. There will be a difference on your POI.

If you think the vane is hitting, put some lipstick on the outer edge of each vane, shoot it. If it is hitting you will see the lipstick on your cable/rest, whatever to know for sure and where.

Yes, you should practice with your lighted knock. you should practice with the same set up you plan to hunt with, including broadheads.

            X2

Add on the peep, string needs a few twist, or possibly replaced if too far out of spec

              1) the string needs to be out back into spec and the peep taken out and put back in for proper alignment

              2) make sure your hen vanes aren't hitting the cables (I've had this exact problem with my chill). Cock vane up for fall away rests

              3) always practice with your exact hunting setup
