I just sent this e-mail to Muck

To whom it may concern, this morning I saw your facebook post about your support and fund raiser for the Humane Society of The United States. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am. As an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a Hunter Ed, and Bowhunter Ed instructor, I simply cannot believe a company that caters to hunters, ranchers, and farmers, would support such a group! HSUS wants to see and end to ALL hunting as well as many farming and ranching practices that would cause countless farmers and ranchers to go bankrupt.

Did you even think about your customer base before agreeing to support such a cause? I have to tell you, I own a pair of Woody Elite boots. They are without question the most comfortable pair of hunting boots I have ever owned. Today, when I get home from work I will be cutting them up, (so no one else can use them), and placing them in the trash. I will then go out and purchase a pair of LaCrosse, or Irish Setter boots. I can no longer support a company that would support a cause I am so adamantly opposed to. I truly hope you reverse course and revoke your support for the HSUS. I think you may have already done irreparable damage to your reputation in the hunting and farming communities but you may save some fans with a denouncement of HSUS and all they stand for. Thank you for your time. Respectfully,

I have to believe they did not realize the association/link between there customer base and HSUS. The response will be extremely interesting to follow.

Muck will apologize for a hack job and everyone will accept it then they will be back full force in a year.
Truth is you don't post that much about the HSUS and not know, someone from the Co would have seen it and removed it if it were hacked.
Or they claim they didn't know what the HSUS was for and they're back rolling again in a year

We would like to respond to our loyal customers and provide additional information about recent posts on social media regarding a monetary donation to a local animal care organization. Our post inaccurately stated that a donation was made to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Moreover, the post itself was inappropriate under the circumstances.

Family members of an employee who recently passed away requested that, in lieu of flowers, co-workers donate funds to the Humane Association of Northwestern Rhode Island, a local association founded in 1978 to solve community issues primarily related to stray cats. They are not affiliated with HSUS as the posts incorrectly stated.

The money is not a corporate donation, but a collection of personal contributions from employees with the intent of remembering a beloved co-worker. While our intentions were good, the use of corporate social channels under these circumstances was inappropriate.

Muck Boots has a heritage of respect for the outdoors and for nature. We apologize for the anger and confusion the posts have caused and have removed them from our social channels.

I don't care who they give money to. Best pair of boots I've ever worn and I'll keep on wearing them.

Talk about an "Oh S" moment when execs first caught word of this - along with all the blowback.

                              Here is my email to 'HSPFootwearCustomerService@Honeywell.com, muckboot-uk@Honeywell.com & help@muckbootcompany.com

                              Hello,

I have been a loyal supporter of Muck Boots for many years. I am an outdoorsman of all types and have always felt Muck Boots were top notch. Muck Boots were products made for the outdoors community. I am extremely disappointed to learn of the recent fundraiser for and donation to the Humane Society of the United States. HSUS is against hunting, farming and ranching. HSUS does very little to actually support wildlife and conservation and very publically fights farmers, ranchers and hunters. This donation seems to me to be a reflection of the Original Muck Boot Company profiting off of a group of outdoors people while undermining them at the same time. The donation could have gone to a FFA group or outdoorsman friendly organization and been lauded by your customer base.

I have always recommended my friends to consider Muck Boots and always considered the brand myself when looking for new boots. After this donation, I will be taking my business elsewhere and recommend my friends do the same.

                              Thank you,

Maybe they are harboring illegal migrant workers without curfews also. Yes never can tell these days!
