    Looking for new car/suv

We have to buy a new car in the up coming week and I need some input. I would really like to buy a nice used car (2006 and up).

My question- Does anyone have any input on the Nissan Murano or Infinity crossover.

    Thanks

My wife has a 2005 Murano. It's been a good vehicle so far and she really likes it. Overall I like it also but I've always felt like the A/C is a little anemic. It just doesn't feel like it gets as cold as it should, not that it's bad just not what I would expect. It does blow a lot of air though.

I thought I would notice the CVT transmission when we got it but I really didn't. You have to really pay attention to notice that it doesn't shift gears like an ordinary tranny. It rides well and has very little road noise.

Hope this helps. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Should be a great time to buy a SUV. I have been driving a lot of SUV rentals and still nothing compares to the Chevy Tahoe.

I don't really know either vehicle well but E-Bay Motors has been my friend on other vehicle purchases. It has a good search function and most of the dealers that use it post a LOT of pictures. You can compare price/options/conditions etc.

I usually put in a 250 mile search range under the "advanced search" setting.

Most dealers post a "buy it now" price and the reserve on the live bidding is usually $200 under the "buy it now" price.

When I bought my Expedition I just called them when they didn't get their reserve and haggled them down from there by e-mail/phone. If you aren't paying cash make sure you have already talked to your banker and been pre-approved up to a certain dollar amount. it really helps when you are haggling to say" if you get to X-dollar amount I am ready to give you the number of my banker for drafting instructions"

Marion- Do you ever hear any brake squealing when it is backing up. I have read several reports of people complaining about this.

As much as it pains me to say this anything Honda or Toyota is going to be hard to beat. It took me a lot of years to realize that the foreign car makers build a better vehicle.

My brother is a sales manager at a major car dealer (and is over used cars as well, right now) on the north side of Houston. If you want his contact info, shoot me a PM. He'll take care of you.

My mother and a friend both have a new Ford Edge and love it.

We do get that occasionally but I figured it just needed to have the brake pads replaced, just haven't gotten around to doing it. It had 45K miles on it before we started hearing this and since we don't back up very much it doesn't bother me that much. It never squeals during normal driving.

I don't drive ours very much but occasionally my wife lets me get behind the wheel. I did get to drive it some this morning and I tried to pay attention to any annoyances I have about it but nothing really jumped out at me.

There is a good looking 2007 Tahoe in the classifieds.

I drove a Ford Edge as a rental not to long ago. It is sort of like riding a moped, fun to drive, but don't let your friends see you on one.

Check out Enterprise Rental Car Sales. You would be surprised at what they and the way they will work with you.
Go by the office in Jasper and talk to Chris.
