    Cheap coon trapping.

I have some Dukes on order but does anyone have any plans for home made traps or ideas on how to trap coons?

I would like to put out some Dukes and then try with something cheaper just for fun.

And I am not interest in any Coon-aid right now.

You can try building a Paiute deadfall trap (just google it for instructions). You'd have to use a very heavy flat stone for coons. You might get something other than coons though.

Snares are fairly easy and cheap to build, plenty of YouTube DIY videos.

If you have half a dozen Dukes on order you can decimate your coon population in no time.

        Not much need for alternatives.....

You can make a tilting board trap that will dump them into a metal garbage can.

I set out six white Z-traps Wednesday evening. Thursday morning I sent six coons to coon heaven.

Drill a 1 1/4" diameter hole 3" deep in a 4x4 post at each end, at least 36" apart. Run 3, 2 1/2" drywall screws in it till they point inside the hole and stop about 3/4" apart. Drop a piece of aluminum foil, the size of a quarter in the hole. Set it around ponds or deer feeders and wait. Take a bat and a screwdriver to check your traps next time.
                Works like a charm!!!
