    Athens r120

Have a chance to get one less than $350 in great shape. Has a code red ripcord rest and a nice trophy ridge sight. Anyone have any input on the bow? I will not be able to shoot it before purchase. Is this a good deal?

Yes I used to be prostaff for Hallowed Ground Outdoors and shot an Athens for 3 years. The R120 is a good bow. The only negative I have about the bow is the difficulty in getting them tuned sometimes but most two cam bows have that challenge. But once you have the R120 tuned its ready to go and will shoot well.

It does have a different sound to it on the shot. It's kind of like a thump. It never had an effect on any of the animals I shot with it. It was just kinda different getting used to it. Some of the first year R120's had a problem with the limb bolts being pretty super hard to turn and Athens addressed the problem.

I can't say enough good about Jason Hudkins the owner at Athens. He stands behind his product 100% and the bow has a lifetime warranty regardless of who owns the bow. If you have any questions about Athens go over to the Athens website and post up. Rodney is the forum and prostaff guru there and is an upstanding guy. He will always shoot straight with you.

Now for the big question. Do I still shoot Athens? No, the hunting show I am with now is sponsored by Ross Archery. I gave my R120 to a youth hunter and he loves the bow.

So I give the R120 2 thumbs up especially for the price you are looking at.
