Heartbroken!

Well, I got home late last night from a surgery training in El Paso. My girlfriend of over 2 years was at the house and wanted to talk. Things had not been going well and I figured we were probably done. That's what we decided and we broke up. Problem is we have been raising hoyt, an 18 month old lab together. She probably spends more time with him and is closer to him. I told her she could keep the dog. He has to stay with me for a while until she can find a place that will take a big dog. She has an apartment now. I can't hardly stand even looking at those big brown eyes knowing he will soon be out of my life. I just think she needs him more than I do. I hate that relationships go bad and I don't know how people make it through the custody stuff with their kids. I am a wreck over a dog!

Sorry Doc, sucks giving up a good dog. Sorry bout the girlfriend too, even if it was a mutual decision with no hard feelings it is still a life changing event that will take some getting used to.

Unless your plan is to woo her back with how giving and caring you are because you're giving her the dog..... and then you should slap yourself and take the dog.
If you're broke up.. be broke up...take the dog...whats she going to do ...break up with you if you take the dog?
