    Welderup Vegas Rat Rods

Anybody else see this show on the Velocity Channel over the weekend? They built a sweet rat rod. I've been kickin' the idea around to build me up something old and ratty for a while. Here's a few pics and the link. http://www.welderup.com/news/mack-rod

I absolutly love rat rods and bikes. I think there way more artistic than anything with chrome or shiny paint.

Those aren't rat rods. Rat rods were about building the best you could with what you had. The look was a result not the goal. That thing is horrendous looking. Hot Rod ricers.

I agree that is the true definition. But I can also appreciate the time, effort, planning, and execution it takes to bring one of these together.

Kinda like saying "it's not bowhunting unless you're out there with a long bow and hickory arrows, crawling around in a loincloth"

I like them alot. I plan to build one, one of these days. The neat thing is they are unique to the person that built them.

I believe the story about the truck pictured was that it had been in the owners family for 3 generations.
