My stepdad has been tinting Windows for 25years. I worked with him part time during hs. If your talking about house windows or car windows with no defrosters, just a good sharp razor blade will do the trick. I can easily remove tint on a 3x3 piece of glass in a couple min. Now if the window has defroster lines across it, like the back window on a car, peel the tint off first, and its going to leave alot of adhesive behind, just SOAK it in water with a spray bottle and pull a black trash bag apart and stick it to it. Let it sit in the sun for several minutes, and every couple of minutes peel back the trash bag and re spray it. Id say after 20 min in the sun you will be good. Remove the trash bag and start scrubbing that adhesive with an sos pad, steel wool. If it has that blue soap in it id rinse it out. Just keep it really really wet and keep scrubbing. Make sure you have plenty of paper towls to keep wiping up all that water and glue.
Also, if there is no defrosters, u still want a spray bottle with water. Makes all the difference. Peel the tint first, spray the adhesive, and start scraping.
At work we sometimes remove decals off the sides of trailers. I use a heat gun gun and gently heat it. Too much heat and the decals bubble up, leaving lots of glue behind and they pull apart. Not enough they break and leave lots of glue behind.
I warm the deals up grab a corner and start peeling.
We use Xylene to loosen the left over glue and a razor blade to GENTLY scrape the glue off.
When I change out the Inspection decals on windows I recommend Rubbing Alcohol.
Last Time I removed tint I left the car in the sun started a corner and peeled it off. I used Rubbing Alcohol to remove the glue.
Couple months ago I borrowed a friends truck and the window tint peeled off :-( I used rubbing alcohol to remove the glue.
