Good Places to Eat in Georgetown, Texas

We will be in Geogertown starting late this afternoon for a Showcase tournament at Southwestern. What are some good places to eat. Is there any real good Mexican food places?

El Monumento is pretty good. It's not your typical Tex Mex but a little higher end. Not far from the university either. 205 West 2nd street.

X2 for dos salsas. Wild fire cafe and gumbos on the square are really good places and monument cafe is a great breakfast place. They are right there by the square too

If you want BBQ head down the road to Taylor and try Louis Mueller's. It's AWESOME!

If you are at the campus, Then Dos Salsas is your place.. If it is for dinner, get there by 5- 5:30 or you will be in for a long wait..

Hardtails has a good lunch and atmosphere. If you are looking to step it up a notch in money and elegance, then Gumbos on the square is where I would go.. Hope this helps...

                  This^^^

I wasn't impressed with El Monumento when we tried it a couple of Sundays back and have never been impressed with their sister restaurant, Monument Café either.

La Playa on Williams Dr gets my vote for Mexican in Gtown. Dos Salsas is good but the La Playa burrito with beef fajita is outstanding. Wildfire (south of the square on Austin Ave.) is good and Hat Creek Burger Co (North of square on Austin Ave) is good if you want something quick. El Monumento was crap IMO. Monument is ok but prices don't match what you get.

Thanks for all the help, we will be there a few days and my son can eat his weight in food. Besides we have to play each day between 12 and 5 it is going to be hot.

Dos Salsa, La Playa, Wild Fire, and Gumbos.

I'm still pretty fond of Mariaches De Jalisco for breakfast. They have the best Menudo anywhere.
