I decided to protect my self from the snake bite. I bought these last night at Cabelas. Had them on sale $191. I tried the non water proof for $161, did not like the way they felt. The waterproof fit so much better, the uppers were built a little different. I know these are hand made, so each pair is a little different. The 8.5 in the WP fit like a glove, the 8.5 in the regular fit me like a size 10 Tried on several others and decided on these. I did have some gift cards that made the decision easier.

You will be glad you have them should the need arise. Hopefully it doesn't, but I was hit, and luckily had mine on. Don't want to test them again
