    Army Worms on bermuda

They hit my 3 1/2 week old new sod. They hit it when I was out of town and when I got back they finished off most of the 1/2 acre. I already sprayed it. What are thoughts on if it will grow back? Has a good root system as I cant pull any of it up. I have heard just to apply fertilizer (havent applied any at all yet) and water and it "should" bounce back. Really not happy with the idea I will have to spend $6k again to get it installed again if it wont grow back. Looks like the just ate the leaves. Shoots are still there.

    Thanks.

It will come back quickly this time of year with watering.

I would put down a good weed and feed fertilizer to keep the weeds from invading the weak spots, use a good granulated insecticide and just throw some bermuda seed down in the bare spots as insurance.

As mentioned, if you have roots you can't pull up, then you can not kill out Bermuda grass. Give it a good watering especially in this heat.

It'll come back like everyone has said. Time, water and fertilizer. I lost 100 ac of coastal to the, when they hit hard in 99 and by next year, there were some small spots, but you couldn't tell anymore.

ok thanks for the quick replies and sorry for the duplicate post. Going to get some of the Scotts Summerguard (Fertilzer/bug control) and water as mentioned. Still watering once in the morning each day so just keep that up until it recovers.

                Fertilize and water.

Try to get something high in nitrogen.

I have a hay field of Bermuda.

Already sprayed once this year and most like will have to spray in the next week of two.

Read the label of what you put out and make sure it list army worms.

We lost about 160 acres of food plots in MS so far this year. After treating its already coming back in two weeks.

20-0-8 good? Its the Scotts summerguard that has the bug control and lists army worms. Or should I just apply something higher and then spray again for the worms?

                    Thanks.
