I saw that happen in my shop. A guy drew back, anchored and let the bow go. The cable guard hit him in the chest just below his heart area and dropped him like a sack of taters. He was bruised and hurting, believe me.

Wow! Bet that left a mark. I can't even imagine this happening to me. I take for granted the amount of energy a bow stores and I think we sometimes forget that it doesn't always go in the intended direction.
