I'm not an ac man or electrician so I will explain this as good as I can. The idiot took out the two breakers and the relay for the heater, and had it all wired in hot running to a 50 amp cutoff. The wires were pulling 45 amps each.
The box was so hot you couldn't touch it. We had it running since 10:30 this morning like this. Very well could have burned the house down. The heater was running and that is why the house would not cool off. My new ac guy who was recommended by my wife's friend drove 30 miles at 8:00 to come and fix it . That is great customer service that you don't see much anymore. Headed to bed I've got to go tear some new ones tomorrow. Thanks for all the help I appreciate it.

Glad you got it fixed that was number 3 in my write up. Good thing is it would not have burn your house down a heater is design to have its heat on and they can run all day. They have a clixon in them so if they get to hot they trip off and cool down and then back on. The bad thing it's hard on the electric bill. Glad you got fixed

Still not sure why he replaced the parts he did.

Heater wouldn't have burned it down, but that breaker box mounted to wood was 200 degrees or more. You couldn't touch it for more than a second
