    Best I-40 Trail Cam Mount

Was wanting to get some idea's , photo's,etc. of the best I-40 trail cam mount where you can have access to opening the camera lid turn off, on ,
change sim card and change batteries if necesary without the hassle of removing bungie cords taking camera off off t-posts (my set up now) and having to re align and attach to t-posts. Looking for the easy fastest way.
There are no tree's in area. Appears that you would have to build something and use the strap that comes with it. Any thoughts.

    Thanks

I attached mine to a piece of large conduit that will just fit over a t-post. I used the galvanized round post connectors that you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot. bent the mounting bolts over so they couldn't be unscrewed. I cut a hole in the t-post and the pipe to put a bolt or wire through so that the pipe doesn't turn around the post. I then cut a hole in the t-post above the pipe so I could put a lock on it to keep someone from just sliding it off the post. They could still steal it if they wanted to pull the t-post but in the rock we have that's difficult. Don't have any pics available but its worked well for me. Hope that make some kind of sense.

i mount my cameras to a piece of 1x8(or plywood) with zip ties. i use U bolts to mount the wood to a corner fence post. drive a T-post where you want it and the corner post will slide over the T-post.

      cheap and easy.

kevin, do you use pvc for a corner post to be able to slide it over a t post?
what diameter corner post? do you have a way for the post not to turn on the t post? any photo's?

          Keep the ideas coming. Thanks

i use a metal corner hurricane fence post. the top of the spade on the T-post will keep it from turning. if not take a hammer to the bottom of the fence post

In the latest TTH mag, on pg 143, AGS Services in San Antonio makes a fantasic mount. We bought six of them and put I-40s on them last weekend. They're made of steel, pivot on every plane needed by the use of wingnuts, and are attached by U-bolt to t-posts. They can also be attached to trees as well. I was worried about the price at $80/peice but once I saw how well they worked and the quality of construction, I'm glad I didn't try to rig something up myself. Definitely worth the money and we'll see how the hold up in South Texas with Dolly rolling through.

This is what I use if I don't have the perfect tree handy. Not sure how your camera box opens but mine opens from the top down.
