First game in 8 Years

With the encouragement (or arm twisting) of several of my buddies, I decided to tryout for a minor league/semi-pro football team down here in Houston. I actually made the team and had my first game two weeks ago. I havent played contact football since December of '99! aka High school playoffs. Needless to say, I had to knock some rust off for the first two games. Here are a few pics from the first game. They are kinda fuzzy, but we didnt really have the right camera for the job, but oh well. I'm number 83.

Thanks. This is the first time in my life that I was able to reopen the door to a dream that I thought was gone forever. I'm playing wide reciever, kickoff, punt team, and extrapoint/field goal for Haywood Jeffires- WR for the Oilers back in the day, and our head coach.

You are playing for Haywood? Man, that brings back some fond memories of Warren Moon and the Run N Shoot offense w/Jefferies, Givens, Duncan and Hill. Those were the days! I wish you luck man.

Johnny go to this web site www.Texascup.us and you will find there is an adult league in the Houston area.I believe its $25 to try-out and $125 if you make a team.

The next tryout wont be until next season, but if you're interested you could probably come out to practice and check it out. And if have any equipment you could talk to the coach and see about joing up maybe. Home field is The Rig in Pearland. Send me a PM if you want more info. What position?

This league doesnt pay the players but the next league up is arena and they do get paid.
