Video transfer

I have a bunch of miniDV tapes that I need transferred from my camera to a thumb drive or external hard drive. The issue is my camera only has a fire wire connection and none of my computers have a fire wire connection.

Anyone able to help me out?

Desktop? If so, you'll probably save yourself a lot of frustration by going ahead and installing a firewire card. I think they start at about $25. There may be other solutions, but try to avoid anything that will restrict the speed.

I was able to go from my Sony Camcorder (Mini DV) with firewire through a Thunderbolt (Apples Interface port) to USB Adapter on my Imac with no trouble.
