I have an opportunity to pick up a Hoyt Lazertec for $275 with hard case. I currently have a PSE Diamondback. I am not sure what the FPS is on the Diamondback but the Hoyt is like 295. What is your all's opinion?

I doubt it will hit 295 fps. It has an IBO rating of 310 which probably realisticly puts it in the 280s. JMO. -
I guess my question is would I be upgrading or just making a latteral move by buying the Hoyt and selling the PSE?Comment

I know this isn't what you want to hear but only you can decide if it will be an upgrade. If you have the chance to shoot the hoyt first you definately should to compare it with your PSE. Speed isnt everything, so you shouldn't base your opinion just on that. I believe that a quieter, smoother bow will kill anything before speed. Hoyt does makes a good bow and the price doesn't sound bad, so if worse comes to worse you can buy it and just resell it if you dont like it.Comment
