    Wildview game cams

Has anyone used the Wildview digital game cams? If so what type of pictures do they take and are they reliable? They have them on sale at Bass Pro for 99.00 for two cameras.

I have 2 digital .3 mega pixel & the newer one. newer works fine with date & everything. Can't beat it for the money.2 for 99 that must be for the small one. No date & time & flash only good for 15 feet max, get a lot of eyes. Try for newer model, it's worth the xtra $

Bowpete is right. I bought the 2 for 80 at Thanksgiving and they are weak on flash and batteries don't last as I thought they should.

I have 3 of the 2 MP models and they have performed great this year. I have been very pleased with their performance and battery life. I'm getting avg 1500 pics per set of batteries depending on how many night time pics are taken. I don't think you can beat them for the money. They set up very easily. The guys are right though, it is probably the VGA model that is 2 for $99. My SIL has one of those and it has worked well for him but no date or time. They are also made in TEXAS or at least distributed by a Texas company. A couple of pics. These are reduced for the web.

I have the Wildview Xtreme 2 camera.
I have been testing it around the house and it seems to work well.
I got some washout with the flash but took a piece of a Sunny D bottle and placed it over the flash and it seemed to help...I'm going to try a a black mark in the center of the plastic to make it better. The flash will reach out to about 30' even with the flash covered with the "frosted" plastic from the Sunny D bottle.

The only difference in the X2 and X3 is the X3 can use a larger SD card...

For the money it works well...looking at getting a 2nd one now.

Swat that is the model I have also. Thanks for the tip on the flash wash. I get it mainly when it's just light and the flash is still operating. They do get a picture a good distance at night.

I have 4 wildviews 2.0 There good cameras so far. The trigger time is a little slow. But will work good on feeders. Might be to slow on trails unless you can place the camera at the right angle.

I thought that the X2 model was the 2MP unit and the X3 was the 3MP model?

Yeah yall are right...I brain farted.

The Xtreme 2 is a 2.0 megapixel cam and the Xtreme 3 is a 3.1...

When I was comparing the features of the two it seems that they were pretty much the same camera.

In the Xtreme3 it has 1.1 mp increase, holds more pictures and will take a 2 GB memory card. I couldn't justify an extra 70 bucks for that.

I like the burst mode...I think it would work well on trails in this mode.

I have one of the extreme3 models. I like it, so far. Can use external connection for battery pack/solar(haven't done it yet). Has low .1 & 3.1megapixel resolution. I bought an 256meg sd card and I have both day and night time pix and they all look ok. When subject is really close, the flash washed out some of the contrast. I would buy another and probably will. I also like the smaller packaging. My .02

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I will be buying either the extreme 2 or 3.

I had one of the Extreme 2 game cams. I took it back cause i thought that it sucked. I had it at the lease by my feeder and went to check it one weekend to find that i had 250 pics on it. I got to thumbing through them only to find out that it went crazy or something and started taking pictures ever min or so of nothing. There was an occasional pic of a squirrel and a crow. It took so many pics so quick that it ran the battery dead.

Like I said before When I was "testing" the cam out I noticed the flash wash was occuring at dusk and dawn...
I had cut out a small piece of a Sunny Delight bottle, to "frost" the origianl lens on the cam. I placed it on the inside of the of the lid behind the existing lens.

I set out the cam the a couple of days ago to place the cam out.
I mentioned placing a piece of electrical tape over the center of the "frosted" lens as wide as the bulb.

When I went to the lease to place the cam out I didn't have any electrical tape, but I found some white athletic tape and colored it black. I covered the center of the "frosted" plastic and cut it only aas wide as the flash bulb.

Looks like theresult at dusk was great!!!!

I think I need to angle the camera up just a tad...

Just wanted sing the praises of the WV company. I had a WVII that was acting up.......white out during the day and totally black at night. WV sent me a brand new WV2 at no charge and did so with a 9 day turn around. Not bad considering it was during the Christmas holidays (sent in on the 20th).

I also have on of the original .3's and have had no problems with it. I have taken a $4 clock from Wallyworld and put it across from the camera to show the time. I judge the day by the alternation of day and night pics.
