Some Kansas locals or hardcore Midwest bow hunters would scoff at Ace taking his monster Kansas buck over a corn feeder or buck candy or whatever it was--and I'm not knocking it. My point is there's no right or wrong answer here-- just enjoy your time in the woods. Unless you are stalking your buck with a long bow and flint you are using advancements to up your odds. Whether it be high fence, compound bow, rage broad heads or buck candy, we are all attempting to increase our odds. How far we are willing to tip the scale in our favor is a question only the hunter can answer. Ragin, I hope you kill a friggin giant and have a great time doing it.

I believe Buck Candy played a huge role I hunted this deer for 17 days as I said before. The first 12 days I hunted with just corn with no pics and only one sighting of the deer moving through the bean field at 80. I then put out corn with buck candy mixed in it and the next day he was there eating corn but it was at night. I continued to hunt him and he continued moving at night but eating buck candy every night. Till the 19th he came in at 6:00 pm and got his last bite of buck candy.

    Yessir. Thank you man!!!!

I didn't pick them, Have a buddy going with a rifle and he invited me to go, Is that a bad time to go? I'll be bow hunting, it may be cold, that's' all I'm worried about.

It's not the dates I would pick but go hunt when you can!!And it could be a tad bit nippy Once rifle season starts they scatter like crazy seems like. BUT....I did have a shot at a toad on opening day of rifle season one year....I was bowhunting....but my jaws on my Scott release were froze shut and would not open. Good luck to all going.
