    advice on labs....

I had a black lab for twelve years and she went pretty much evey where with me. She loved hunting and fishing and just going for a ride. Sadly she became I'll and after multiple trips to the vet she passed away a few months ago. I got her as a puppy and trained her myself. Her drive to retrieve was more than I could ask, even in the most foul weather, and her heart and love was greater than most people I know. And although she will be missed she will hold a place in my heart. So I'm now looking for a new man's best friend that will hunt as hard if not harder than me and be as dedicated. So if anyone knows of any good kennels that produce great labs or know of any great labs in general I would appreciate it. Bloodlines are somewhat important. My previous girl was from Sugarland and carried an impressive pedigree. Thanks for the help in the search.

Sorry for your loss. Just found out my girl (chocolate) has cancer. Lots of good kennels around the Houston area though. Good luck with the search and puppy stage!

My daughter got mine for Louisiana Sportsman. A trainer in Orange Texas. She is a heck of a hunter, loyal as any lab I've ever had and loves the water. Great line of ancestors. I will try to find their number.

We got our last one from The Retriever Academy in Miami, OK. Derek was a great guy and even better trainer.

Another good place to watch is the Retriever Training Forums classified adds.

I've got a great lab out of this kennel. They're in Houston.

Mary Tatum, DVM, has been breeding elite Labrador and Golden Retrievers since 1975. Watermark Retrievers received the AKC Breeder of the Year award for performance labrador retrievers in 2015 and is based out of Houston, TX.

I just got a new pup from a top notch kennel around Lubbock. That's a bit of a haul for you though. Great blood lines, she already wants to retrieve at 8 weeks old
