    Ringworm remedies?

One of my kids had a spot show up on her arm that looks like ringworm. Found out that one of her friends had it a few weeks ago. What are some ways the GS have used to get it to go away without having to go to the Doctor since we couldn't get in to her regular doctor till Monday at the earliest.

Fluid Film is what I used when I got them from sheep. But then again I doubt many people want to spray fluid flim on their arm....

Capitan works well, I've heard bleach does as well.

Above all, keep it dry and clean. Mine healed up x3-4 as fast when I stopped trying to keep it covered and let it dry out. School people are never happy about it, but It will heal up faster that a way.

Any over the counter anti fungal cream will work. Takes about 2 weeks.

Desinex, lotrimin, lamisil are all examples.

Lamisil I believe is what I used when I had one. Worked like a charm, just make sure you use it long enough to get rid of it (couple weeks)

Get some news paper, role it up in a funnel shape and light the big end. Let it start smoking from the small end and let the smoke hit the spot or your arm directly. It's gonna get hot but it works. It will dry it up.

I've done it a couple times and so has my dad and it's done the trick every time.

I don't think my 9yo will let me do this to her

You may want to cover it with bandaids to keep her from scratching. It gets really itchy and she will make it much worse by scratching. You can use athlete's foot crime or DILUTED bleach water (1 cup bleach in 1 gallon water). Hope it doesn't spread!!

Go to drug store or WalMart, get some blue star ointment, just ask the pharmacist what they recommend.$10.00 you will be good.

Green Walnuts. Get a green walnut and cut the husk off one side and rub it on the ringworm so the juice soaks in. It will leave a brown stain but ringworm will die and be gone by the next day except for final healing. The juice will sting a little kinda like iodine.

$5 Anti-fungal cream for a fungal infection...makes sense to me...or you can try kerosine, pecans, smoke, clown paint or other voodoo from the anti- medicine crowd on here. Autonomy is a good thing, it's your skin!
