    Panhandle Hunters washout

I went up to Childress this morning and got rained out. I was going to fill the protein feeders but it was raining and too muddy to get in. The guy at the feed store in Quanah said that they have received 15-16 inches since May. It is really green up there! I hope it equates to some big racks!!!

Yeah my place is just outside of Quanah and 2 weeks ago it was 12 inches. May have to move one of my setups cause its by a creek.

My lease is down the road from you a little way in Cottle Co. I get weather alerts on my phone, and they have been getting hammered out there lately. I also hope for some good rack's this year...come on Sept

I hunt north of you all outside of Clarendon. We have had record rainfall. Last friday evening it rained 1-1/2 with golf ball size hail on me.

Our place is greener and more grown up than I can ever remember.

          My report from last weekend.
          Collingsworth Co. is booming, too.
Couple more timely rains and we should be set for a great year.
          Fingers crossed.

That ain't a washout, that's a blessing! Should be some healthy deer, turkey & quail!

Only downside is all this rain is falling right during wheat harvest, if they had a crop at all out there.

I sure hope so. Deer quality has suffered the past few seasons because of the darn drought.

Was up there couple weeks ago. Pease was running, been while since I have seen that.

Maybe some playas will still have water when the dark geese come south! Course I've had pretty good luck even when they don't, just don't get to do it enough anymore.

Should be a good dark goose season. Looks like some cotton is about to get plowed under & replaced with a secondary crop of milo.

Playas are in good shape, but we will need sept/oct rains to keep them full.

Best conditions I have seen since we started hunting in Panhandle.

Dang, where exactly is this located. We hunt the other side of Tell close to the Pease in Hall County.
