Sprinkler System Quote - On Par?

First let me say we are building a house and our Builder has been awesome. He has been very conscientious of our budget and has actually saved us money to put other places.

That being said, I got a quote for a sprinkler system from my builders guy. He came in at $3200. I have a rather large yard as well.

This is the layout of my yard. Red X's are my aerobic system heads.

He plans to cover the front, front flower beds, both sides and put 4 large heads in the back covering 60 to 70 feet out from the house.

    Does $3200 sound reasonable?

I have used my guys on other items such as driveway so I dont want to buck the system too much. If his price is in the ballpark then I will leave it at that.

    What does TBH say?

Sounds reasonable. In the long run it will be invaluable to you, keeping your yard/house/investment looking nice with minimal effort on our part. I say if you have it to spend ,do it. I regretted not putting sprinkler systems in my first 2 houses. I am looking to put one in at my current residence.

If anything I would have thought it would be a little more.
      Worth every penny.

$350 to $450 per station is the norm here...............and very competitive............thus get two more quotes!

just put one in our newly finished home. My yard is a good bit smaller than yours, but I got bids from 5 different contractors. Guy that did mine did it for 1900 for 6 zones, so 316.67/zone. That was with rain sensor, and -prerunning wire for an extra zone to be added on in the backyard after we finish the landscaping and/or garden.

our contractor gave me a three year warranty. I also had him give me his insurance. $2M in aggregate, so same as required to do work for any of the major corporate builders in Houston.

Like Landrover said, typically they are priced per station with a flat fee added for the backflow preventor and tie in.

$3200 is not bad depending on the zones.
