Quality dove hunts

Looking for a quality dove hunt around Houston that has lot's of birds. Just bought my daughter a little 20 gauge semi that she has fallen in love with.

I was also wondering if anyone remember the person that used to be, or is a site sponsor on here that had dove hunts around San Antonio if I remember right. Wanted to take my wife on a romantic weekend/hunt.

Can't help you on the Houston hunt but I know what I would do for the romantic weekend.

Nooner Ranch in Hondo has amazing dove hunting for white wings. You will see thousands of birds early in the season. For the romance D'Hanis has a cute B&B if it's not too late to book a room and they have a couple of really good restaurants in D'Hanis as well.

Good luck find anything around Houston, just not many options. I have been looking for years. Try looking around el campo or Sealy. Those will be the closest decent options. Stay away from most anything in katy.

Thanks for the advice. I tried Katy 2 years ago and was disappointed. Last year I got invited by my company to go up 290 a ways and it was amazing! Birds everywhere! I consider Sealy Houston area so if you know something there let me know. Thanks again.

We day hunted around Houston for years, we had a few good hunts, but very hit and miss on number of birds. The last 4 or 5 years we have headed to Hondo/dilley/uvalde area for much better hunting.

My daughter had the first limit of the whole group last year.

Know the name of the outfitter? Heck I go to Boliver every chance I can to do shark fishing, so Winnie isn't to far at all.

Farm Dog Has a great set up down in Mercedes,the white wing never run out,as for around Houston,its hit and miss.Try looking on Craig's List,2Cool fishing or Texas Hunting Forum, maybe check out Texas Dove Hunter

We are hunting with Trey Powers (txcattleman here on TBH)

He leases a good sized corn field right on the ROund ROck/Pfluegerville line near I-35 and 45 tollway. This place is in town and is loadd with dove!

We have the field booked for Sept 1st and 2nd (Monday and Tuesday) but I might be looking to fill a couple more spots depending on a couple of other buddies!

It ain't cheap but it is good! Kid friendly atmosphere so your daughter in fact she would hunt free if you pay to hunt.
