I've used "Tumped" or "Tumpt" all of my life. But "tumpted" is a whole new level of reckneck.

Maybe they are saying "tumped" and "it" together fast and it sounds like tumpted?

          What happened to my beer?

Dang, tump has been around forever.

"I leaned backed too far in my chair and tump't it over".

Anybody who has gone canoeing or kayacking knows what tumping a boat means. I was thrown off for a minute because of how you spelled it. It's "tumped" and pronounced "tumpt." It is not spelled tumpted.

It most definately is a word.

My typical response to these sorts of questions are:

                "Of course it's a word. I just said it, didn't I?"

i am as educated as anyone on here and i say tump regularly. it describes perfectly what happens to an unbalanced wheel barrow. i'm fixing to get ready to do some work that might cause it to be used again.

Absolutely right on the spelling. Heck I figured if the root word was TUMPT, the past tense would TUMPTED. I now truly speak redneck and understand that the root word is actually TUMP.

I guess the final straw in all this crap is that the quote Merriam/Webster used was a sentence made by a Scrabble champion who used the word. By the wildest coincidence ever...he happens to be Don Barclay from Kennard...my Brother and TBHer.

If you say it and people know what you mean then it's a word.

Tumpted is part of my vocabulary.

I never really knew how to spell it though!
