Very true. You can use Dons fish camp or tx state tubes. Dons has been around for a long time. The river is flowing nicely and has tons of eye candy.

have you actually confirmed you can't drink in Oklahoma?

my understanding was that certain rental places don't allow it and some do. not an actual state law or anything. but for sure no glass. maybe something has changed?

^^^^^Spot on; however, The Frio is becoming more and more "Party" style. River radios are OK, but when you have it blasting so loud I can hear it halfway down the river, its too loud. We've been going to the Frio for 25 years and this summer is the first time I had to ask a group to turn their freaking radio down. Part of what brings most families to the Frio is the peaceful river, scenery and lack of Guadalupe Idiots. All these Cooler Radios are akin to being in Houston, sitting at a red light and being forced to listen to the dumbarse next to me blaring his 1000k watt radio loud enough he can't hear it but everyone 20 cars around him can.

              OK, rant over.

floating the blanco after a rain is one of the best in the state. no traffic, and extremely pretty. put in at wimberly and spend the day down to i 35 just above san marcos. need your own boats.

I was at GSP this weekend and there was a fair amount of ice chest radios. Most groups of tubers were very respectful and even turned down their radios when approaching large groups of people in the river.

If you do the Guadalupe at Gruene, I recommend that you go there the night before and get to the tube renal places when they open. We did that this past weekend and there was no one around. We got to the river ahead of the crowd and floated pretty much on our own all day.

Comal and Frio have always been my favorite.

Man, I hope when I get old I am not that much of a grumpy fuddy dud. LOL.

If they are playing some crappy Nashville pop I would want they turn it down but if they are playing some good rock/metal or music with good beats I would say "turn that **** up! Woooo Hooooo."

FTR, there are areas of the Guadalupe that are less crowded and more out in the woods. The area NW of 281 is awesome.

If you float san Marcos, consider renting tunes from the lions club tube place. They give back 100% of the money to charities, scholarships and community initiatives.

The whole purpose of floating a river is to enjoy the peace and tranquility.
Why for god's sake does some idiot moron nincompoop want to play a boom box?
