    STAAR testing only in Texas

Miss Sally is a third grade teacher in east texas. To prepare her students for the STAAR test, she compiled a review for the class. The review consisted of a wide array of topics.
Question 1 read: List, in any order, the four seasons.

65% of the students gave this answer:
    Dove
    Deer
    Duck
    Turkey

    God Bless Texas

I remember my Dad pulling me out of school when opening day of duck season was on a weekday ('60s). And he was a college professor -- in East Texas!

I needed that! Siting here tutoring remediation students as we speak. Bless their hearts. Some of these questions are so dang ridiculous and antiquated. Frustrated but I do believe HB5 might have us back on track. Problem is now all the good voc ed teachers are making bank in the oil field. Heck I might be teaching welding next year instead of two of my English classes. We have had EXACTLY one applicant for the Ag job pertaining to Ag Mech and she is a first year girl straight out of college.

It's so frustrating to see some of my students, who are dumber than rocks and little poop-heads to boot, go in to the oil field and come back just to brag that they make more money than I do. Good for them for making money, but why, oh why, did I choose this profession?!
