    UPS - Creeper

Kinda creeped out by UPS. I was just signing up for "My UPS" so I could get delivery updates. I guess because my address has recently changed, it wanted to go through some security questions.

1st question...it asked me on what street I have lived on in the past. There were 5 answers....one was a street I lived on "before kids". Wow...they dug deep!

There were several other question about past addresses...ok, I am pretty traceable through addresses they have delivered (and I have had a LOT of addresses), I get that....but then it asked me a question about "my son, Justin".

Geesh...that went over the top on stored information. Street addresses are one thing, but info about my kids? I had no idea they knew so much about me

Why on earth do they need to store all that info on a person?

        UPS - Creeper

I signed up to get alerts from FedEx to let me know when they deliver packages to our business and it asked very personal questions also.
They are keeping to good of an eye on us...

It's not just UPS, they get all that from somewhere else. Lots of companies are verifying that way.

That wasn't UPS Mary, that was me...

            j/k

Does seem quite a bit over the top. Next they'll wanna know your age and weight.

I can't recall what I was verifying the other day, but it went through very similar questions. I'm not sure if I was creeped out our impressed with the amount of info they had.

They have all that from all the Victoria Secrets orders they have dropped off in the past

Do a quick google search of your name you'd be surprised what's on the internet about ya.
(By "you" I'm meaning a person in general. I have never googled you, Don't want ya to think I'm stalkerish or UPS'n)

I went through some security questions for AMEX the other day and they knew more about me than I could remember. The year models and colors of vehicles I had financed 10 years ago, addresses etc.

They asked me questions with multiple choice answers to verify where to mail a new card.

Its not just ups doing that are doing that. Alot of companies are doing that when signing up for a account. I had the same thing happen to me when creating a account on Copenhagen to get coupons.

They are probably getting it from the Federal Government, wait until they ask you about a specific text message you sent to someone years ago. LOL

They don't NEED it. But, they do use that type of info to market to you specifically. You absolutely would not believe how much information is out there about you on the good ol' Internet. I'm a LEO. I can get onto one website for research and come up w/ addresses, other people living there, other people that have lived there, places of employment(current & past), spouses(all that you've had, divorces, pending lawsuit that name you, old law suits that name you, drivers licenses & IDs, any assets & liabities you have, family members, roommates & their vehicles, all of your vehicles, boats, airplanes, etc, etc. when doing deeper research on someone, I usually thin out all the BS I won't need for my investigation before I order & print the report. I usuay come up w/ 50-60 pages of stuff. It could easily be 100 pages of information to sort through for most folks. It's pretty crazy shays out there. UPS won't have access to all of that information, but they will most certain have access to WAY more than you would like them to have.
