Best Texas beach? Where and when to go?

Just spent the last 4 days at Port Aransas. Beach was OK. What would have made it better is not so much sea weed. Nicole and Lucy didn't like the smell and didn't want to stay on the beach too long. Luckily we were staying at the Pioneer RV park so we made the move to the swimming pool instead.

That got me thinking, in your opinion what is the best Texas beach and best time to go there? Why to both?

South Padre Island and it's not even close. I love Port A, though. August-October is the best time there.

X2. When the wind lays in Aug. it's incredible. If it's a family trip the week before kids go back to school is ideal.

South P is good, but port A is where we go and stay every year. My family love it, and I spend most my time fishing offshore though lol.

I grew up 70 miles from SPI and went there very often. It's the best in Tx. However, we went to 30A beach in Florida last summer and will never go back to SPI unless someone else is paying. There's no comparison.

Its because its still the gulf and some dirty water. It is what it is. Clean water on the east coast of Florida. We all should plan a tbh sandles tripe hahahaha!!!!

Well...Playa Del Carmen/Cozumel is way more awesome than Florida, and much cheaper.

Destin! Lol. By the time you get to south padre you could be in Destin. Much better too
