I need to buy a generator. What brand should I get and where do I get it?

Id buy a Honda Eu without hesitation. They are expensive, but are great generators. Very durable and extremely quiet. They also hold their value very well if you decide to sell later on

If just your regular ol portable generator and money is no object get a Honda EU series, if you don't want to break the bank get a Champion from Tractor supply.

We use a Champion and yes it is louder than our yamaha but it has a lot more power. We have run it at the lease for several years now and not had a single problem. This past weekend we used it to run two cabins. They have AC, flat screen tv's and a microwave. It will both cabins about 12 hours on 4 gallons of gas. It is a 3500 running and 4000 peak.

I have a smaller honda (2,000is) and it is very nice. I just purchased a bigger one (6500is) and will be using it for the first time next week. I'll let you know how how it works. According to the specs it makes about the same noise as the smaller one. When the 2000is runs it sounds like a an ATV idling in the distance.

Honda makes great stuff, but they have a price tag to match. You could probably get a cheaper model that would work too. I have a Briggs & Stratton generator I purchased at Lowes 8 years ago that still runs great. Definitely loud and it burns a lot of gas.

Honda makes a great quite generator. The Honda EU IMO is the best one out there. We've had a Honda for 18 years and have never had a problem.
