    Shotgun help

Found a new H&R 12 gauge pump at my local Walmart. Just wondering if any of you guys have had experience with the brand.

Never heard of them, just get an 870 if you want a pump and be done.

H&R has made great guns for years. Not very familiar with their pumps though. Single and double barrels were well made.

I love remington 870's and collect them. But, the express leaves a lot to be desired.
The difference between a wingmaster and express is night/day.

Looked at getting one a while back... Most H&R shotguns seem to be 870 knockoffs but are pretty well made... Fit and finish isn't as nice as a true Remington but you won't cry over scratcher either.

The price is what really interests me.. Less than $200 for a brand new. I think I'll try it.

So H&R builds a 870 "clone" It's fit and finish is a little rough, the gun will be heavier than an 870 as a lot of the parts are made out of metal from China. I bought the youth model for my son and it was a good gun for the money and what we need it for.

As with most things you get what you pay for, so don't expect a lot more than a 200 gun.

Most of the kids that I grew up with started out hunting with the H&R Topper shotgun and many of them had their first rifle with the H&R/New England single shot rifles. They are still solid guns.

Shot my first deer with a h&r topper 20 gauge. Birthday present when I turned 10. 12 gauge kicked like a bassterd mule.

PSA has a shotgun for under a 100.00 on their Fourth of July sale.
