They have urticating hairs (hollow hairs filled with venom). When they crawl across you the hairs break off in you and release the venom.

My ex got bit by one and turned into the bride of Frankenstein.... Her head swelled up twice the size, eyes shut, and throat started closing . We had to call ambulance , when they ga her a shot it looked like they let the air out...shrunk instantly

Just get somebody to pee on it. Stops the burn almost immediately. Or so I've heard.

buddy of mine got bit by one and he had a bad reaction to it and passed out while driving. got banged up pretty bad.
