    Rural Internet Providers

OK I am moving to the country and was wondering who I should use for internet service ?
I have been with Comcast but they don't offer service where I am moving. What can I expect speedwise compared to Comcast ?
    Any suggestions ?

    There are several options.

    Satelligh internet.

If close to a small town many have a type of wireless internet.

If close to a cell phone tower you might get a hot spot from the company that owns the tower.

I have Hughes Net thru my Dish account. Speeds are not very fast. But did find if I used Google Chrome it was faster than Explorer.

Nothing will be as good as what you have.

I have skybeam. They use to be Unitewireless. They were really good until the last 3-4 months. We have been dropped almost every day from about 4pm unitl I go to bed. It is on and off on those days. They have been out about 6 times and it isn't being fixed. I keep telling my wife we are about to change providers.

We have Wi-five again. We tried Hughes net but is wouldn't let us watch YouTube when we wanted and was always slow. Wi-five cost less then half what Hughes did and it is down a lot less.

          Just my $.02.

We use Consolidated Communications... not sure where you're moving, but, they have an office in Katy. I live just outside of Needville. Get good internet (20Mbps); Used to have Comcast in Sugar Land, and got 24 Mbps... Also use them for TV and phone. TV is good, but, a fairly low number of channels... @ 160 channels; NEVER anything worth watching...
