Hope it works out. If they're not wiling to make it right hire a lawyer to file a class action suit to push them into doing the right thing.

Lamar state in Port Arthur had their approval revoked by the BON in January of this year and are teaching out the students currently enrolled.
Lamar State Orange only had conditional approval and was not fully accredited. This may be the reason that nothing will transfer to other colleges.
Maybe she can request a transfer to their nursing program to finish out the last year? She may also try calling the BON to see if they can help point her in the right direction as far as possible other schools she can attend and maybe they will allow some things to transfer.

TSTC did similar to me back in 2000. I was 15 months in to their Assoc Degree program. At the time I was working 40 hrs/week, and taking max credit hours per sem in order to get max GI Bill benefit and so I could get FINISHED.
2.5 months out, they arbitrarily decide to "drop" my CNT degree plan, as they were shifting to be a Cisco/Microsoft certification boot camp.
Only possible way I could have "finished" would have been for the to basically quit my then job, and cram the remaining few courses(which I was already on schedule to complete the next/final semester) in to the semester I was already in(full load already).
I tried to fight, but in the end, I had to opt for their "certification". Complete waste of my GI Bill, almost 2 years of my life, and $1,000s more out of pocket. Ended up with 60+ some odd now worthless "college" credits.

And she studied so hard to be in the top 2 going to school when she was sick running fever just to not miss a day then they just vote to drop the program.just sad what people will do without a thinking of others.

Lamar Beaumont and lamar orange are two different schools . I attend lamar institute of technology and had to take a summer class in orange . Lit is as crooked as they come . They are all about your money and could careless about your career . I landed a job as a operator I start in August . Lit wouldn't let me take a summer class because of a prerequisite when they allowed several others to do the same thing the semester before . They ended up with 10 students in the class . Max was 25 . To me the school was just a formality because I can learn more in 6 months on the job than I will in 18 months on campus . It's not rocket surgery after all . Good luck getting anything out of lamar . If I'm not mistaken the rn program takes applicants before the summer for the fall term . Have you tried transferring to lamar port author ?

Just saw this online...are you sure the program is actually cancelled? Sounds like its just on probation
PROGRAM UPDATE:
At the January 2014 meeting of the Texas Board of Nurses, the status of the Upward Mobility Nursing Program was changed to conditional. This change was based on the 2013 NCLEX-RN pass rate of 77.59%. According to the BON rule, programs must maintain an NCLEX-RN pass rate of 80% or higher. We anticipate our status to be reinstated in Fall 2014, and our next program start to be in January 2015 as planned.
