After the land owner selling his land in Walker Co last month and i lost my lease I was hitting it pretty hard to get another lease to hunt this year. Anyways sob story over.....I have an opportunity to join a lease in Hardin Co. My question is hows the hunting in that area?? Ive never hunted that area before. Does the area have decent deer? Land owner said theres lots of deer on his land. The lease is just over 3500 acres. He said the place has pigs but not a lot of them....so the chance for some pigs are there but not over run by them. Any tips for the area?

Me, Tony and Bart were raised running deer dogs together.

Always like seeing Ragin's pic, that's a stud! I hunt Hardin county and love it, but its def like what others have said, all depends on where you are. Im in between Sour Lake and Lumberton, about 15 min from Kountze. My place is 1500 acres with decent neighbors, so we have plenty hogs and a decent amount of deer. No monsters, but were working on that and letting them grow. Some areas get lots more pressure than mine and it can be tough. Anywhere over there though will teach you to become a good hunter, and learn to play the wind and scout, otherwise you'll have some long, boring mornings in the stand.
