How late is too late to start training?

Ok, some will probably not agree with me here but I have had the greatest pleasure of having a half pit half Dogo. She is extremely intelligent and has a INSANE game and food drive.

She accompanies me everywhere I go and absolutely loves the ranch. My grandfather was extremely worried about her around his cattle till one day I saw her following him around and being ever so gentle (2 strokes and can't walk well). He went to put out grain and she followed him. I would have normally yelled for her to come back but I was truly curious to see how she would react around the cattle (she has always had a fence delegating her from them but never has attempted anything). She didn't leave his side while he entered the corral. It impressed him so much he actually petted her which he does not do.

Now when she sees deer, hogs, rats and squirrels...ESPECIALLY squirrels she goes ballistic. I've never sat her on hogs but when I give the command nothing will stop her till she gets what she wants.

Since she is an only dog I refuse to let her hog hunt. But I truly feel that with her game drive and scent of smell she deserves to have a job.

She is roughly 100lbs and 4 years old. Is it too late to start her for blood tracking?

Try and find out. It's up to the dog.

Never too late if they have the drive and you have the patience and time.
