    Tree demolition with tannerite?

We got these big dead pecan trees on the river bottom on my buddies ranch that need to go. These are huge! So just cutting them down is not an option. For the guys that have used tannerite. If we bored a hole at the base of the tree and place 2lbs of tannerite in the hole, would that do the trick?

Probably not, but I'd watch the video

No. Too small a charge and it will just blow out the path of least resistance.

What size charge would you think it would take to knock it over?

Some wraps of det cord will do it.

Why wouldn't you just cut it down? Tannerite would never work. The pressure would just blow out the open end of the hole. Either way, cutting or a charge, the tree is still falling down. At least if you cut it you can control the direction the tree falls.

Because of the huge limbs that could fall while cutting them down. From what we were told the ranch next door was pushing some of their dead trees over and a limb almost caved in the cab on the dozer. Besides we have small chainsaws.

Just did some research. Seems people use a lot more than 2 lbs for the big explosions.

They sell the stuff at Academy. People buy it to shoot it and make it go boom. What's crazy about stuffing it in a tree and shooting it?

Does anyone know of a tree removal service that would trade out some tree removal for some pecan wood?
