    Omg....this is still going.

An officer has to have Probable Cause (Violation of some law, evidence to suspect you commited a crime, etc...) to pull you over in this state. If they tell you otherwise (DL Check/DWI Check)..then someone is doing something I have not been able to do for the last 16 years. Why? because they cant. (Or at least we cant)

Pluse, every department must audio and video tape their traffic stops. If not then they have to keep outlandish records on each stop for racial profiling informaiton. Meaning....most departments state wide tape everything. So its there for internal review if you have an issue on the grounds in which you were detained.

Thats not actually true JTS, they really tape their stops so they have a recored of your guns so we can seize them 15 years down the road

      From the Transportation Code

ยง 521.025. LICENSE[0] TO BE CARRIED AND EXHIBITED ON
DEMAND; CRIMINAL PENALTY. (a) A person required to hold a
      license[0] under Section 521.021 shall:

motor vehicle the class of driver's[0] license[0] appropriate for the
      type of vehicle operated; and
      (2) display the license[0] on the demand of a magistrate,
      court officer, or peace officer.
      (b) A peace officer may stop and detain a person operating a
motor vehicle to determine if the person has a driver's[0] license[0] as

First off if an officer pulls you over it is probably because there is something there that deserves a second look. All the officers I know will not bother to make a stop unless it is really worth their time.

Having worked HWY 77 from the Raymondville to CC I can tell you that all those Illegals didn't walk from the river, they were given a ride and then got out somewhere with a brush guide to get them around the checkpoints. The Sarita (Kingsville) and Falfurrias checkpoint are some of the busiest in the nation.
You don't hear about it but the BP makes hundreds of arrests a week, vehicle seizures, and drug busts. Most being carried by vehicles. The BP works the brush also. If you haven't seen them then they are doing their job quite well by not being seen. Just remember that the BP catches more dope than DEA and Customs put together. As a matter of fact these two catch about 75% compared to the BP. On average the BP was catching 36, 000 illegals a week on the Whole southern Border. That is what we catch not to mention what gets away.
Sometimes we do bother people by stopping somebody that is perfectly legal but we won't know that until we take that second look.

By the way the fence does work if it is done correctly, In San Diego it stopped the influx of illegals by over 90%.

All it takes is reasonable suspicion.

If you pulled over the person who called or one of their family members they would raise all kind of hell.

"Why are you pulling me over? I'm the one that called!! It's those other people you need to get!"

I know this doesn't apply exactly to this thread and don't really give a pile of feces. =)
            Exactly!

We hire them on to do a job for us, yet we complain when they do it? How stupid is that!?

I like the fence idea....most of them cross prime hunting areas - its gotta spook the deer.

Free high fence - keeps the deer from illegally crossing over to their country and getting locked up in a Mexican jail. I have not yet seen one carrying a passport.
