True.....that's why I say I am taking a shot for a Long run, I have made enough to where if it tanks.....I will be ok. But that being said I think it has minimum of $10 before we see anything stupid.

BTW after this Low swing.....I am Buying More

This is killing me right now.
I made decent profits on the way up to .48 or so
      then it started to tank
So, I've been averaging down buying blocks of 5,000 - 10,000 shares
My most recent was 10,000 shares at like 0.155

Now my problem will be to unload all of these things.

I am a believer in the product/vision but I'm now having iffy feelings about the Kal (the Prez)

When this gets back up to 0.35 this will be nice "nest egg" money as kindling for my daughter's college fund. She is 14 months now.

PTBI - Undervalues bio play. A few upcoming events over the next 2-4 months. 70% of shares are owned by institutions and insiders. Holding for $4.50 plus. Moves real easy. Freaking sold when it dropped to 1.75..Then it ran to over $11

LINE - Holding long in case oil continues going up. Holding long
TTNP - Holding for FDA news. Stock already up so don't recommend buying bow unless it dips below 65 cents. Holding out for 85 cents or so.
Sold a few.. Hit 87 cents so far. Data due any day now.

            Updates..
BNHLF - Still holding and waiting. Hoping for a run very soon. Data due in less than 3 weeks.
TTNP - Sold it all after good data.
APT - Bought a bunch and waiting for the next scare for it to run.

BLOZF - Watching. Not sure why it dropped so much. Taking to long to develop product? May be good when they pump it again on more pot news.

That's it.. A little slow on picks right now. Any ideas? Post up if you have one, just please explain why it should rise.

Do you guys have any websites that you all use for stock advice or stocks to watch etc?

I've been playing around on motleyfood and it appears its about a 50-50 love hate relationship with this site from online reviewers.

I'm new into the market and have one of my IRA's in a mutual fund however I have a small amount in a rollover I was thinking about playing with in the stock market..

Google. Lol... it's what I prefer over anything else. Sure, there may be specialized stock websites that have TONS of info you're looking for that may work for some people but if you're looking for something quick to read up on, put a stock symbol in the google search bar and then hit the "news" tab.

I use a combination of the data from my broker, Trefis.com, stockfetcher.com, and yahoo finance. Sometimes I'll use thestreet.com but that's fairly rare. I'll keep my suggestions to pretty well known stocks and a couple of ETFs. Some I still own, others I've traded in/out, and some I'm watching.

As for stocks to watch, just pay attention to what is going on in the world. For example all the "police brutality" and call for wearable cameras, look into that area. Because it's hard to predict which wearable camera will be chosen by most PD's, invest in something like AMBA who provides the technology that drives the cameras. It has spiked recently so careful buying this as you could be late to the dance.

Others look at regional banks. They don't have the exposure to Europe (Greece) or Puerto Rico debt issues. For the most part they are American only. As the fed raises interest rates they are in good position. Hard to pick one out of that list so I like the ETF for that industry - KRE or KRU.

Of course AAPL has been one of the best stocks out there the last few years. It's going to increase slower because of it's size so expect it to be more sideways or profit taking for a little while. May be good to pick up some on a dip. Probably best way to play this is similar to the wearable camera advice above and pick a smart phone/internet of things chip maker. I've done pretty good in SWKS this year but recently got out of this one. Still have AAPL but not liking their chart pattern recently. Going to be patient but if I get one more technical indicator showing weakness, I'll probably get out.

Is Oil prices at a bottom? I don't know but lot of stocks in that sector that are good. Probably safer to go with the large companies in this sector like SLB, HAL, RIG, XOM, CVS, COP, VLO, or go with the energy etf - XLE if you can't decide which. Also like CLB in the energy sector but it's not your traditional oil/gas company.

DIS is the best performing DOW stock so far this year. Don't know if it's run its course but with Star Wars coming out in December this year I think it's going to be a good one at least through earnings past Christmas (Feb 2016). If you have a girl and had a lot of frozen stuff at Christmas, this should not have surprised you. Paying attention to trends in your own house is a great starting place.

EA sports has also been good. They also have a Star Wars game coming around November so could be a good pick up through the Christmas rush. I also have a son who loves both star wars and his xbox one so I'm sure this will be on his Christmas list.

NFLX could be interesting to watch after it splits and gets affordable for the average investor.

If trying to diversify: AAPL, FB, DIS, NKE, SBUX, WM are a good start. I may consider replacing NKE with UA but would want to do more research. NKE does a lot of business in Europe and with Greece default could impact them at least temporarily. Look for the stock leaders in social, mobile, and cloud technologies and you should be ok as well. That's one reason I like FB. It's the social leader but it also has something like 5-6 apps in the top 10 downloads in the apple store so they have a good mobile presence. They haven't learned to monetize all those apps but when they do, it should take off.

These are more buy and hold stocks and fairly conservative approach compared to how I usually trade but I think for someone just starting, it's probably better to start conservative with companies that you know something about.

Anyone have any guesses when the next Pot stock runs will happen? Or when the Feds may change the law to make pot legal?

IMO this will be a huge play at some point in the next 1-10 years. Just trying to figure it out as I want to get in early, maybe up to 6 months early.

Hard to say. Oregon followed Colorado's lead and legalized from what I read this morning. Only a matter of time. I wonder if there's a "vaping" device being made for it. I could see that being huge. But not sure it would gain enough national strength unless the Feds legalized nation wide.

Think of how many people would be high while at work? Scares the crap out of me to be honest.

I agree. this will be the next big thing in the stock market once it's legalized. My guess is that it needs either a big state or state with big city legalize it before it takes off. Think states like CA, IL, or NY. They are liberal voting states and between LA, Chicago, and NY there could be a lot of people in any of those 3 cities that would take advantage of legal weed.

Yea there are already vaping devices being made for it but I think they don't deliver as much THC as the real thing. The problem with this approach to investing in it is that the big cig makers are controlling a lot of the vaping direction. If I'm going to take the risk for this trend, I want to get in at the grass roots (pun intended).

As far as those high at work, depending on the job it worries me. I work in software development and know a few who wake and bake almost daily before coming in. The problem is there is no way to legally prove their intoxication level and there is no agreement on how much that should be. Companies will have to take a zero tolerance until both current level tolerances and detection methods are agreed upon. Blood test for example only show that you've used in the last 30 days not what your current level is.

I believe once all that gets worked out, then many other states will legalize it. If you're going to try to time when to trade the pot stocks, this is what you should be paying attention. Or it's at least what I'm paying attention to. I do have a few thousand shares of BLOZF though that I got for about .07/share since they are working on detection devices. I don't mind putting that to the side for a while and waiting. If they do get the breathalyzer working and the patent, their price will spike up and give me an early warning sign for the rest of that market. Plus in about 3-4 months I'll have held for over a year thus moving my taxes from short term cap gains to long term.

BigL - Do you know any pot stocks out there that are not complete scams? Seems like I have 6-8 on my list but their price drops all the time, they raise money etc.. All scams trying to cash in.

Before considering DIS (Disney), compare it to HZNP (Horizon Pharma).

Here's the previous 6 months comparison, DIS vs HZNP.

My feeble IRA is happy this year, mostly due to HZNP.
                              Just a thought. Good luck.

All the ones that I've watched are pretty similar.

I have trade GWPH pretty successfully. They are a medical marijuana stock than recreational use one. I've been in/out of that one since it was trading in the 50's. Now that it was on Cramer recently it's gone crazy. Back in the 50's I would by the stock and sell covered calls on it to generate some income by selling months out at 80. I was shocked the premium I would get sometimes for a 25pt gain. I still pay attention and trade it sometimes. Not in it right now but may get back in and use covered calls as before to generate some income as before.

Others that I watch are CBIS, DIGP, MCIG, MDBX. These aren't pure pot plays either as they have laboratories and are doing research and medical uses as well. I traded CBIS back when the Fed Govt. gave them a grant to look at using marijuana in soldiers with PTSD but they haven't done anything since then worth mentioning and pretty much been on a downward slope since. MCIG and MDBX are the vaporing plays in this sector that seem more legit than the others but really hard to tell since penny stocks don't follow the same regulations as regular stocks. DIGP is a lab/testing services company making sure cannabis-based medicines do not contain unhealthy levels of contaminants like pesticides and mercury. They are also one of the leaders medical marijuana field in determining what an acceptable dose is.

Here's an article about DIGP and their testing:
SEATTLE, WA / ACCESSWIRE / June 9, 2015 / The cannabis industry could reach $35 billion by 2020, according to GreenWave Advisors , if all 50 states legalize marijuana and the federal government ends prohibition. ...

The pure recreational pot plays are tough to figure out which are legit and which are being run by conmen who just want your money and are an excuse to puff regularly.
