    arrow advice

Hello all. I just got a Truth II and was wondering if anyone had an arrow they were really happy with that maybe i should try out.

    28" draw, 70lbs

I heard good things about the full metal jackets but wondering if any one has found anything else they like.

I really like the carbon express maxima hunters. I shoot the 350 out of a 28 inch draw 70 lb bowtech tomkat. I like the finish and consistancy and cut to about 27 1/4 they weigh about 390 grains. They are a little pricey ($140 for a dozen) but worth it to me. I've shot gold tips, bemans, and the easton fmj, but I am sticking with the maxima hunters.

I like Carbon Express Maximas. Your local bow shop probably has several brands matched to your bow you can try out to see what works best for you.

I live in a neighborhood behind Jud's right off 123 on the north side. I graduated from SWT in 1999.

I shoot Gold Tip pro hunters. 8.2 grains per inch is the lightest you'll find that still have excellent durability. I shoot 75ke and hit rocks when my arrow blows through coons and never broke an arrow. With other ones they always break.

I know a heavier arrow is supposed to be better but I use 125gr heads and end up with a great FOC. So it shoots flatter and the pentration is there.

I vote for the Carbon Express Maxima 350's as well. Tough arrows.

Of everything I have tried the but all around arrow for me has been the X Weave. Its hard to beat. I still play with my FMJ, Fat Boys etc. But I always go back to my X Weaves.

Really happy with CarbonTech Rhinos for hunting. Heavy and pretty indestructible, my hunting arrows weigh 500 grains with a 100 grain tip. Sure it slows the bow down a bit (230 fps) but I can do 4/4 broadhead shots (cold, no practice) at 50 yards inside 1 foot circle with Blazers steering them.

Figure who's going to help you tune the bow (local archery shop?) and buy your arrows from him, if he's $20/dozen more than catalog figure your paying for the help in tuning.

I just started shooting the Carbon Express Maximas and love them. But, they are a tad pricey for some. I shoot them more because they are light but still tough. Shot the Easton Epics last year, but, they were a little heavy for me. I have a very short draw length.

My son has shot Beman ICS Hunters and Gold Tip Hunter XT's and I can't say anything bad about either one. Have been really impressed with both.

If you use a capture style rest like the Whisker Biscuit, I like the Bemans a bit better due to the slick finish. The are less noisy pulling them over the bristles.

                      Hope that helps. Good luck.....
