Do a line pressure test. You'll need an oil pressure guage, about 4ft of 1/4 hose, and a 1/8 nbt adapter. Should be like $25. There's a port on the left side of your tyranny. Should be a 7/16 hex bolt. Unscrew it (fluid comes out) and quickly screw in the guage. Look up the pressures for each gear and compare them at park and 2k rpm. It could be a solenoid, range sensor, or pump going out. I assume you chanted filters with the flush?

Wayno, your problems are not over. The issue of the jerk is not your tranny. It's a misfire. I'm changing my plugs right now because my truck is doing the same exact thing. It's very common for a ford to miss and not throw a code. Just have someone run diagnostics while your driving and watch for a misfire under a load like your describing. When I finish my Gus today I'll let you know if it completely fixed my issues.

Changing the plugs is next on my list. I am told that the plugs on the Fords are difficult to get out and easy to break off. If they break, it then takes a special tool to get them out, and if any of the porcelain gets in the engine, it will ruin the engine. I don't think this will be a job I will do.

Other than trying to find a parts store with the proper tool, it really wasn't all that bad. I was at my brothers house and he is a dang good mechanic with all the needed extensions and wobble sockets and several years experience. I'm glad to get it over with and not have that horrible jerk under load anymore.
