My sales guy from Lafayette stopped in at Don's and got them to vacuum seal some for me and brought it to me couple weeks ago... Threw it in the freezer. Got 3 links to a pack. Makes a perfect supper for me. Take it out the freezer and throw in a pot of boiling water for about 20 minutes... cut it out of the bag and throw on the grill for a couple minutes to brown the casing... then it's iced tea, white bread and boudin for supper!!! Don't get much better'n that!

I had someone bring me some last week from Don's and I can honsetly say it was the worst so called boudan I have ever eaten in my life. The pork was greasy and full of fat and what little rice there was tasted like mush. I hope yours is better. I was sick to my stomach for two days and I'm not exagerating.

Thanks for sharing! Cool vid. I used to regularly make a stop at Don's for some boudin&cracklin...in a previous life when I traveled to Lafayette frequently. Love cajun food.

Brian you get ready to make a batch be sure and holler at me! I'd love to lend a hand and get in on that!

There's 2 places on the planet that I've traveled to that I could see myself living outside of Texas. That's Western Kentucky and smack in the middle of Cajun Country. I did live just outside of Scott, LA for a short time. I was less than 5 min from Best Stop. Blake can tell you from prior visits, you can bet the farm I'm making that north bound turn off of I-10 to go get some boudin, cracklins, and turkey taso!!!

My official opinion... Best smoked boudin on the planet, Best Stop, best boudin balls on the planet, Billy's, best specialty meat selection, Don's. When I drive through that part of the world, I fill the Yeti 65 up to the top and my bank account is about $1,000 less than went I pulled into the parish. Thanks for sharing Blake, makes me want to come visit again!

All you guys going to Dons need to get your act together and learn where the Best Stop is.

Exit 97 Scott Louisiana, right outside laffeyette, it'll change ya life.

You got it. Ive got 12lbs deboned ready to go. Ive gotta get 2lbs of domestic fat and a pound of liver then its on. I usually make a 25# batch atva time and lightly smoke it over apple just till the cssings dry and tan up a bit. Man I love it. Just ran out last week.

Love boudin. Sometimes get by with grocery story boudin in Austin, but I've heard from several people that "Stuffed" make the best available here; any TBHers able to verify?
