Does anyone have any first hand experience with Brunton Binoculars?

A friend of mine has a pair of the epoch I think. They are good glass. not sure I would spend that much for them. You should take a look at some of the Vortex. I have the Razers and I am very pleased and will put them up against the high end binos. They cost less as well.

I have owned two pair of Brunton and they are ok. I paid $100 for the first pair and enjoyed them. I picked up a second pair (first ones broke when I dropped them from a deer stand) when I saw them on sale for like $40 bucks.

I am interested in checking out the Vortex when I break these.

The Epochs are hands down the best binocs on the market right nor (once you get past the $1,300 price tag)...even Outdoor Life rated them as the top binocular last year.

Their spotting scopes are also great quality for the $, using multicoated ED Glass, etc. and still keeping the street price around $1k.

Not sure how good their cheapies are, but the Epochs are the Cat's ***.

I have an upper end pair and LOVE THEM. I actually lucked out and purchased a discontined out model in the early 90s. They lasted about 10 yrs then seal must have broke and they fogged over on the inside. I sent them back in and they advised that was a discontinued model (duh ) and they did not have parts to fix them so.... they sent me the brand new model at NO COST. I looked them up back then and there retailed around $700.
I'm not just happy because I got a good deal, but am very happy with them compared to my buddies Leica. I did get a lower cost one for my son and they were just average.

I bought a very expensive pair at a pawn shop for $50 buck.

              Someone had labeled them Bushnell.

              Their loss.

Anyways, my brother Brokenarrow took them and a few years later they go bad.

So he called Brunton and they said since he wasn't the original owner they would charge to fix them.

He decided that was ok since the since they cost over $500 new.

He got them back fixed for free!

My Bruntons are good binos and their customer service is great. I broke a pair sent them in for repair and received a new pair no charge.

OK let me be more exact with my question. Has anybody had any experience with the Brunton Echo Binocular?

I have a pair of 8x42 Brunton Lite-Techs. They are nothing fancy, but pretty decent considering they were $60 at REI. The only thing that really bothers me about them is the image distortion at the edges of the lenses.

I think the Echo model is the model just up from the Lite-Techs. seems to be in the $200-$250 range

Can you try them out side by side? If the Echo cleared up the distortion at the edges it might be worth the additional cost. I don't do a lot of really long range glassing so I wasn't too worried about it myself.

Codie if your looking at binos in the $250.00 range than look at the Vortex Diamondbacks. There are several on here that swear by them.

I had a pair of Bruntons that I really liked. One day I dropped them and the prism broke. I figured with the money I spent on them, it would be warrentied. Wrong. The cost of fixing them would have been as much as a brand new set of Alpen Apex, which imho is a much better glass.

So, I invested a little more money and got the Alpen Tetons. Really nice. My sister has the Apex and she really likes them, too. Lifetime warrenty from the distributor, too.

This is the way I am leaning right now, even though they are at the top end of what I am willing to spend on binoculars. Thanks for the inputs folks
