Cliff diving competion at Hell's Gate this weekend

Red Bull is bringing their Cliff Diving World Series to Hell's Gate on Possum Kingdom Lake this weekend. Anybody going? I think that would be a blast to watch from a boat with beer in hand. I heard one of the divers on the radio this morning. The platform they dive from is at about 90ft! and he said they hit the water at almost 60mph. I can't imagine - almost makes me nauseous just thinking about it...

Yes heard him on the ticket. He is all pumped about it. I am out when it comes to hitting water at 60 mph. Water feels like a very hard surface at that speed. One screw up that turned into a belly flop, ouch that might burn.

As low as the lake is I'm surprised there is enough water to do it safely. They said it's still 26' deep.

I just have a jet ski and didn't want get stuck sitting on it all day (and waiting all night in line to take it out) so we stayed home. Would love to have gone and I know there was a great turnout. Supposedly it was the largest number of spectators for an event with no public land viewing.
