Do you reference checks before you book your hunt. (I work with two different PH's that operate and own private bow hunt only ranches, both with plenty of trophy animals. PM me if you want information)
Pack light. You only need a couple sets of hunting cloths because they will be washed every day.
Take video and still shot camera equipment and a small tripod.
Take a journal and make notes of the days events every night before you sleep.
Hunt at least ten days. It's a long trip, so spend the time when you get there.
Plan on shooting more than you expect. It will not get any cheaper.
Send your PH/outfitter a priority list of animals so he can plan your hunt.
Get with your taxidermist and arrange the import prior to leaving for your safari. Have him provide filled out name tags to be attached to skins and horns. Ask him if he wants the skins salted/dipped or tanned in Africa.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes on your flights. Your carry-on should include your itinerary, PH contact info, ID, cash, meds, saline nasal spray to keep your sinuses moist during the flights, small package of wet wipes, and a change of undies!!
Put a set of hunting clothes in with your bow, just in case your other bag gets lost. Lock you bow case, and wrap it with plastic wrap. Mark it as archery equipment.
Take several "give-me" caps to give to your trackers and skinners. A few packs of smoke for them and you will have a friend for life!
Have RAN for tipping the staff. The native Africans are not allowed US dollars and they will sale them for a nickel to the dollar. (Not sure if this is still true, but it was on my last trip)
I know there are more, but got-a-run.
Do not hesitate to PM me for and questions.
          HAVE a BALL!

Yep, Don pretty much covered it. I would also be happy to recommend my outfitter as well. PM me if interested. Can share video and pictures of my hunt last year. Already booked for a return trip June 2015. Let me know if you want to come along. I am bow only but the outfitter can do both bow and rifle.

Finally have a little breathing room.. Had a hard time finding work when I got outta the Army but things are finally starting to pick up almost a year later. I've been putting some money away for about 5 years and have about half of it saved. I'll be going hunting and takin my lady with to observe. I'm super pumped and I don't even have anything booked yet.. Lol
