Anybody have corrugated tin on their interior ceilings?

I was wanting to do this on the interior of our cabin, but the contractor we're using said we may not want to do that, due to possible condensation from rapid temp changes since we won't be living there or keeping the temp in a consistent range. The contractor said this could happen due to large temperature change from not having an air unit on and it being hot in the house to then turning on an A/C to reach 72 quickly, it could cause condensation. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I talked to a buddy of mine who has a cabin with similar ceilings, and he said he never had a problem with it, and he turned his air units off when he left.

Was gonna do the same thing to my Tuff Shed. Lined the walls with pine and thought the vaulted ceiling would look cool with tin.

I did add French doors just inside of the barn doors. Since the place is deep in the woods, didn't want prying eyes. I can tell you the windows fog up something fierce when I get there and turn on the ac. Not sure this would be a bad thing for the ceiling and the corrugated tin since I don't live there...I dunno, I'll hang up and listen.

We have old barn tin on all of our ceilings in our ranch house and have never had one problem with condensation. This is in west tx so humidity not that big of a issue but we always leave the ac off when past the chance of freeze. It looks fantastic and usually you can find the tin for free.

Did you hang the tin on wood backing or just straight to the studs?

At my ranch I sold last August, I had a detached 14x34 game room that I did this way..walls only. The ceiling was simple cheap, wood panels and of course insulated as it should be. NEVER HAD ANY condensation and my place was in Hood county so MUCH more humidity than West TX as I am originally from Lubbock. It got Hot in summer and COLD in winter, but I also had a pool table, shuffle board, foosball table...TV, Stereo and NO problem.

Think your contractor just does not want to mess with it, IMO!

We just finished our cabin and used tin on the ceiling. So far no issues.

Did you tack in the insulation then nail the tin to the studs?

Yes the insulation was stapled in then I used screws to attach the tin.

I did mine just like BrandonH, nail straight to the stud. Been 2 years with no issues. I do run my window unit during the summer on a timer.

If you currently have cell phone reception, you may want to consider the interference with your signal AFTER installing the tin.

Here's how I did mine. No condensation, but it stays pretty nice in there with foam.

I can't imagine how loud and echo-y a tin ceiling would be in a living area??
