    Question about NauticStar boats

Went looking at bay boats today. We were looking at a 21'4" NauticStar 214 XTS SB. Anyone have any first hand knowledge of these boats? They look very well built, with a limited lifetime hull warranty. Would be a couple of years before we buy a bay boat, just getting info to base my choice on. Thanks.

My neighbor bought a used 2006 21' Nauticstar about 2 years ago and he is selling it. He said its had lots of little problems with it but didn't elaborate.

It is a wood free boat which is a good thing.

I dont know anything about nautic star boats but have heard a lot about a new boat that just hit the market. Called the stoner fury. Some sweet boats for a good price.

        Check them out here

Stoner has been a well made boat for years and years. Started out as a family of commercial fisherman. Not the most trust worthy people but they make a dam good boat!

I drove a Nautical Star one time and it seemed way too light for it's size in my opinion. Like it wasn't enough glass to be a great hull. That was about ten years ago so I don't know about now.

if you are not n a hurry, shop for a good used boat like a Ranger center console or a pathfinder, Parker Big Bay. You can buy these boats used with less than 50 hrs on them for 1/3rd the cost and you cant wear them out. I have a 2300 bay ranger that is 10 years old and looks new, and I use it once a week in the salt water.

I just sold my '05 Nautic Star 1800 Bay. Loved her, great ride, well constructed and never had any issues other than replacing the fuse panel due to corrosion. The only reason I sold her was lack of time available on the water and the $100/month cost for covered storage.

I shopped for a year on used boats. Everything for "a third " of the price had 300+ hours. Anything with less than 50 was only 3k less than new. Didn't seem worth it so I bought the boat your asking about. 2014 shallow bay 214 with a 4 stroke 150. Not completely broke in and so far runs high 40s. A month ago we hit somerville in 20-25mph winds and the lake got ROUGH. I have been thoroughly impressed with the ride and how stable the boat is at rest. I'd do it all over again for sure!!

For a mid price point boat they are good. If you are paitent look for a used top line. I would look for the 2008-2009 Century Inshore. By far the best boat I have ever fished from. Hands down.

Whatever you buy you should really buy a used one, most people will only use their boats 5 to 10 times a year. You can get "one third" off if you are paitent

Only used mine twice so far because of wind and work but I plan on going Wednesday if the wind lays a bit.

Dont let the wind keep ya at home. Ive been VERY happy with the way my boat rides. Im almost at my 20 hr service just when the bay action is heating up
