Has anybody hunted unit 61? Its a very limited draw but I thought I would throw this out here to yall. If I get just one more to talk with about this unit it would be great. We drew second season rifle tags and next year should draw elk rifle or may wait it out for a rut hunt .
If anybody has any deer info I would greatly appreciate it.

Have not hunted 61 and will not live long enough to draw a tag. I have hunted 62 3rd rifle.

If I had a 61 tag in my pocket I would find be an outfitter or spend a LOT of time with boots on the ground and not risk that tag on internet scouting to find my elk in this unit.

From the looks of things you DO NOT need a guide for elk unless you just want the camp duties done and somebody to pack out. I have a lot of info on elk but those who have deer hunted are harder to track down.
One elk guide I talked too and he buys land owner tag himself for elk every year has shared a ton on elk. He says its not hard at all to call in 20 bulls a day during peak rut.
Its deer and bear info I seek.

I have 15 points and after this years draw it will be 16.....next year I plan on being in 61 as long as it takes in September.

Heard stories of calling lots of bulls in......got my fingers crossed.

We hunted 62 last year in sept and u could go anywhere on that divide road and they would talk to you. But is was sure enough rugged on that side of the road. We seen the biggest bull I ever have seen in that unit. Good luck when u go
