Slapped by a Catfish... Only in East Texas

    This cracked me up!

Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — Authorities are investigating a bizarre incident where a woman allegedly hit a relative in the face with a catfish over the weekend.

According to the Lufkin Police Department, on Sunday at 2:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Davis Street on reports of a disturbance. When police arrived, they spoke with three different people who gave authorities their statements.

One of the women present said she put a dead fish in her sister-in-law's face and her brother began assaulting her. She also had red marks on her face.

The brother claimed his sister slapped his wife with the fish and told her to leave, and then she began assaulting him. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Due to conflicting stories and the threat of further violence gone with the brother's arrest, no charges were filed at the time. The investigation has been turned over to detectives.

A catfish can be a good weapon of opportunity. Those fins are sharp.

Haha, as someone who grew up in small-town East Texas, I can say that some of the most backwoods people in the world live there... it's almost like an extension of Arkansas!

I took a friend of mine and his son fishing one time. We were catching lots of catfish. The kid was about 8 years old and had a bad attitude. He smarted off to his dad one too many times and the next thing I knew I heard a "smack" and I turned around and the kid had catfish slime all over his face. Yep, his dad slapped him with a catfish. No serious damage was done but the kid had a better attitude after the catfish slap.
