An odd but funny & favorite memory of DeadeyeDeb...

This wonderful lady had the amazing ability to always make you smile & leave an impression of how human kindness should be like...been sitting here thinking of the extended talks we had at the past few Bownanza's & watching her make all those grilled cheese for the kiddo's with a grin..she loved to make people happy!!

She always handed me one if I wanted it or not EVERYTIME I walked by or got anywhere close to her and her chums...it was a game & she would summon me over & oddly enough I always chowed them down no matter how full I was...it's funny how you note the little things like this & how they get stamped into you brain.

You would think a grown man would pass on at least the 2nd or 3rd kiddo food, when you are about to explode from alll the ribs, bugs, gizzards, etc, but I made the mistake of telling Deb while helping her make some of how many of those I ate growing up & her's on that little griddle took me back to childhood & some of the best I remember eating.

She played me like a fiddle & I swear it was an opportunity to watch me be a glutton (which is really your only 24 hour resposibility for bownanza) OR just see how many it would take to hurt myself and/or decline one, which I never did.

ANYWAY, I digres & found this Thread from Deb that I think those close to her will appreciate & maybe explain to other new members a little about how even the smaller comments / actions she did would leave an impression on you, regardless how big or small.

I would encourage some of the new folks to research out her other posts & note how well she played the positive participatin roll, as she is an example of those who 'get it' in adding value to a site so special to many of us Hard to believe there will be no more...always loved it when her avatar showed up on a thread!!

    What did you...

    Gain from being at Nanza?

I believe I recieved a couple marriage proposals. Even a "if I wasn't married I'd move in with you" proposition!!!!!!!!!

A much greater appreciation for walking on concrete................a blister on the bottom of a toe.

The knowledge Sunday AM when giving PappaProsser the final good bye hug for the weekend, just why my forearms hurt. The 500 (+/- a couple hundred) hugs I recieved and gave.

And thinking bout missing RSatt there ............ALOT of good people here!!!!!!!!

Please note post #24...nobody but Deb could have pulled that off. I don't even care for pickles but Deb didn't take no for an answer & still got them in my vehicle. I still think it's funny...we kept one jat and gave the others to the foodbank at Church in her name.

What a gal...her joy & attitude was so addictictive!! We will miss you Deb.

Never met her in real life but have read many posts of hers throughout the years. Will surely miss her, seems like she gave of herself more than probably anyone else I have ever "met"

I just told my wife about Debs passing and she is heart broken. You see my wife wanted to take a CC class but did not want to take it without knowing someone else in the class. That's wright Deb stepped up and took the class with my wife. So in a way I owe part of my wife's safety to her. God bless you Deb.

I've got a few stories myself. The most funny one was when she showed to a Taylor HH. Work had me there for a few days so for two nights in a row me, Deb, Scotty, and lemmiout had drinks and laughs. This one night, we tied one on hard. A couple of us went back to my room and had a few more drinks after the bar closed. The next thing I knew I woke up late to find Deb passed out in the bed next to me (we were both fully dressed, right down to our boots)...

I met Deb at Buffalo Wildwings to sign the banners she was going to take to Nanza. We went in to eat and got taling about hunting, fishing, her Alaska trip and just life in General. Next thing I know 4 hours passed. After that she would send random text wanting to know how evrything was. Always had a positive thing to say.

                      Hogboy: You see anything tonight?
Deadeyedeb: No. I should have paid more attention, but Chew and I were playing Words with Friends.

She was a great player. We had a lot of side conversations while playing that game. I miss her.

This was from her thread where she needed help with her daughter's medical bills.

                            Deb's Reply:
"Pleasure to see you as well.
So there I was minding my own business (had to get milk, bacon and Wheaties), get in the line at HEB with only 2 people in front of me. I'm thinking how lucky I am as the aisles were needing traffic lights!!!!!
Mrs. states, "look honey, she has a bowhunter pin on her jacket."
Double L: " Why yes, that is Debbie, DeadeyeDeb."
Mrs: I know her, she makes those great grilled cheese sammies at Nanza!"

Thank you so much!!!!!! Wasn't thinking I would meet other TBH'ers at the grocery store.
God puts us where we are supposed to be at the time we are to be there. Mr. & Mrs. Double L tells me they normally do not shop at the Temple HEB, but had to go to Sams and stopped there (HEB) because they were there.
Of the thousands (it seemed that way anyway) in HEB at the time, only God would have put us in line at the same time.
Our God is an Awesome God!!!!!!"

We got to help out a little with her daughter's expenses that day and more importantly both got a big hug that day to add to all the 'Nanza hugs we gotten in the past. She was a great lady with a heart bigger than Texas.

Don't know all the details but wish we had done more....we live right here in the same county!!! Rest in peace Deb!
